Joseph Benavidez to Fight at WEC 37
No Fear Energy sponsored MMA fighter Joseph Benavidez, who trains in Sacramento with WEC superstar Urijah Faber, will face fellow bantamweight Danny Martinez as part of the main card for December 3rd’s WEC 37 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
“No Fear Energy is excited to support Joseph Benavidez and his goal of moving up through the ranks of the WEC,” said Britt Galland, Vice President of Marketing for No Fear. “He’s a hard-working fighter who’s extremely dedicated to his sport, and judging by his undefeated record, we believe he has a bright future in MMA.”
Benavidez, who along with Faber is managed by Meyer Management Agency, Inc. has a professional record of 8-0-0, coming from six submissions and two TKOs. After a brief stint in Japan fighting for the Dream promotion, Benavidez is stepping up his fight game to the WEC, which has become the home of many of the world’s top bantamweights.
The undefeated Benavidez, who grew up wrestling in New Mexico, is looking to break the three-fight winning streak of Martinez (11-2) whose last fight was in early October. Martinez currently holds the Rage in the Cage bantamweight title.
The main event on the card features bantamweight, WEC Champion Miguel Torres taking on undefeated challenger Manny Tapia. WEC 37 will be broadcast live on Versus beginning at 5:00 pm Pacific time. Check your local listings.
