THE 2009 NSSA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS KICKS OFF TOMORROW
NIKE 6.0 WEBCAST LIVE JUNE 25-27
San Clemente, CA (June 22, 2009) – The 2009 National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) National Open Championships kicks off tomorrow morning drawing elite amateurs from across the country to Lower Trestles in San Clemente, California in hopes of securing a National Title.
Official event forecaster, WaveWatch.com, is predicting fun, contestable surf for the duration of the contest with the southern hemi swell peaking during the live webcast window. These conditions will provide competitors the opportunity to up the ante in the water at one of the nation’s premier competition venues and allow viewers to see all the action from the comfort of their home.

Complete Forecast: Fun surf forecast for 2009 NSSA National Championships at Lower Trestles. The forecast for this week is calling for a mix of S and SW swells (180-215) moving in as the contest starts. These swells will peak Thursday through Friday, which will be followed by reinforcement from the SW (200-220) on Saturday.

There will also be a steady NW wind swell through the first couple of days of the event that should start to back down as the contest moves into the weekend. In terms of size, competitors can expect consistent waist-to-chest high surf with some larger, but less consistent, sets mixed in throughout the contest. Overall, these conditions should create a playful swell mix for the event and set the stage for another historic NSSA Championship.
